The Shire of Hepburn is a local government area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the central part of the state. It includes the towns of Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford, Hepburn Springs and Trentham. It has an area of 1,463 square kilometers.

The Australia Council for the Arts is the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body. We support Australia’s arts through funding, strengthening and developing the arts sector. We collaborate to build new audiences, foster philanthropic support and deepen our understanding of the arts through research. Each year, we deliver more than $200 million in funding for arts organisations and individual artists across the country.

Media Partners

The Hepburn Advocate is a free weekly newspaper distributed to towns within the Hepburn Shire, including Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford, Glenlyon, Hepburn and Trentham. Currently about 7000 papers are distributed each Wednesday.

At the start of each term, Year 9 students embark on an eight-week journey of discovery, in Clunes. They have the opportunity to learn through self-directed projects, group programs, community service programs and volunteering for community events, all of which give a wonderful richness to their Clunes experience.


Cultural Partners

Hepburn Shire Council manages four Libraries throughout our region; Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham. Hepburn Libraries is a member of the shared library services provided by Central Highlands Libraries.


The Library provides all sorts of services to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. Our librarians can help answer your research queries, point you to relevant resources and even give advice on how to best conserve your own books.
