COVID Guidelines

The annual Clunes Booktown Festival is a project of Creative Clunes INC, supported by Victorian Governments and Hepburn Shire Council. We adhere strictly to current requirements regarding Covid vaccination status and as such we are requiring all artists, volunteers, and ticket buyers to show proof of double vaccination.

As our community continues to deal with the varying impacts of COVID-19 we are working to keep our town, festival-goers, artists, staff and volunteers safe and healthy.

We’re guided by Hepburn Shire Council and Creative Victoria who refer to the Department of Health and Human Services for current requirements for holding events. For the latest advice and information please visit or call the Victorian Government’s Covid hotline on 1800 675 398.

By purchasing any Clune Booktown Festival, ticket you are agreeing to adhere to the latest government COVID regulations.

At all times, be COVID safe! 

Please arrive early to your selected talk/event to allow for COVID-safe entry, follow Festival directions and check in when required. All tickets for talks will be required to be pre-purchased.

For Festival Precinct entry,  again please allow time for COVID-safe entry and follow Festival requirements. We kindly request you pre-purchase your Festival ticket. Most importantly, please be kind to our volunteers. They are amazing, we love them, and they are doing the best they can so you can enjoy the Festival and our community.

Ticket-holders must not attend the festival/events if they are:

  • Experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss of taste or smell;
  • Required to self-isolate under laws aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19;
  • Diagnosed as having COVID-19;
  • A known close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
  • Unable to attend due to government-mandated border closures or travel restrictions.


We have been working hard over the last couple of years to bring back a full Clunes Booktown Festival in 2022 and currently we are aiming to bring you this event as planned. However, if unforeseen circumstances require us to cancel you will be eligible for a FULL refund.
