Questions And Answers
As per the current Victorian Government COVID-19 Public Events Framework, please ensure you follow these terms and conditions:
– Each attendee is asked to do a symptom self-assessment prior to leaving home and not attend if they are unwell or have been instructed to isolate or quarantine.
– Observe cough etiquette and personal hygiene measures
To be able to safely run our Festival, as an event we need to follow the requirements in the, such as Victorian Government QR Code Service check-in and having a checking the vaccination status of patrons. Please be respectful to staff and volunteers as we manage these requirements.

Creative Clunes presents the return of The Clunes Booktown Festival in 2022. The weekend is a celebration of the book filled with author talks, presentations and thought-provoking conversations in the beloved historic Victorian township of Clunes this May.

Clunes Booktown presents a series of prolific author talks in this special reader-focused event filled with conversations running over two days.
Yes. Pre-booking is essential. All talks and panel discussions are ticketed. Tickets to the festival, which gives you access to free talks, workshops and kids events in the festival precinct can be purchased online. Click HERE to Book your tickets.
Not at the door. All events are pre-booked, ticketed talks for your safety, and will take place in COVID-safe environments and should be purchased prior to the event for contact tracing and venue capacity compliance. Tickets are purchased through Try Booking.
Yes! Bring the kids. We will have workshops, author talks, developmental writing workshops and MORE! We are bringing back our kids straw bale maze and entertainment so bring the whole family along for the weekend.
Yes. Author signings for speakers will occur after each talk. Readings will be hosting books signing in their marquee on Fraser Street.
This year we are thrilled to be bringing back our booktraders to Fraser Street and across the town in historic buildings.
Over fifty specialist book traders will offer an extraordinary range – new and second-hand, antiquarian and contemporary, rare and popular – covering every imaginable topic and theme.
All our amazing local restaurants and cafes will be open. and our delicious food court will be back with food vans to fill your bellies. YUM.
Yes, however extra services run by VLine over the festival weekend are yet to be confirmed. Please check with VLine directly for info on timetables.
There will be ample parking around the town and a dedicated carpark which will be clearing advertised.
Yes. Parking will be identified in the town, close the event venues.
ATM services are limited in the town so please come prepared if you anticipate you will need cash.
